Decorative Candles to Add Sparkle to Your Room

You may have noticed most homes use decorative candles to brighten up the certain portions of their rooms – figuratively and literally speaking. Not only do candles create a sense of elegance in your room, but they can also set the mood. These waxy décor comes in variety of colors and scents that would surely do wonders to any tiresome room.

What is the first thing you think off when you hear the word candle? Is it All Soul's Day? Perhaps somebody is celebrating his birthday? Maybe there's another electricity crisis in our country which we have to bear (please no!)? Don't tell me candles remind you of witchcraft complete with the ensemble of freaky dolls and rusting needles?

If your answer falls under the bracket of what you just read, then please read along as we explore the many wonders candles can do for our rooms.

You may have noticed most homes use decorative candles to brighten up the certain portions of their rooms (if not then you have a serious eye problem) - figuratively and literally speaking. Not only do candles create a sense of elegance in your room, but they can also set the mood. These waxy décor comes in variety of colors and scents that would surely do wonders to any tiresome room. If your room is missing in the class and sophistication department, a quick fix could come in the form of adding decorative candles at the right spot.

Speaking of spots, what's good in adding candles as décor is it does not require one to be a rocket scientist or an interior designer to figure things out. In fact, you can place them basically anywhere you may wish for as long as there is balance (not to mention that the area is not a fire prone place). Do not try to overwhelm one area, like a table, with too many candles. You may want to group candles of different heights of the same color (or design) and place them on a decorative plate. This way you achieve balance and not scatter the design.

Another good idea is to use large decorative candles as book ends. This would require larger candles to hold the books up. And of course, never, I mean NEVER, light these candles. Unless you want the scent of a burning book as fragrance in your room, then be my guest!

If placing these decorative candles near a highly flammable material is not your thing (it's understandable of course), you can lay them inside a water goblet with water. This adds an instant décor drama without compromising the safety of your home. You may also add shiny decorative stones at the bottom to create a Zen effect.

Candles are not just a ladies thing. Even a bachelor of bleak nature can benefit from having decorative candles in his pad. So, please stop concluding that a single guy with decorative candle in his room is gay. However if all the candles he has are pink or lavender and with Madonna or Cher prints, that is completely a different story. You just might be right on this one.

Decorative candles are a perfect way to add those finishing touches in any room. You may light them or not - this does not defy the purpose.
