Dirt Cheap

My long-time obsession is to be white. Everybody tells me “I love your color Jeannie”, “Wear your color with pride”, and the classic….“black is beautiful.”

I have come a long way since my Serena Williams days but I have accepted the fact that only Michael Jackson can do the black to white feat. Truth of the matter is, you can only go a few shades lighter.

I have not yet embraced that reality and I'm still hooked on my impossible dream to be Cullen family-white. But I figured that while I'm not there yet, I'd rather be black and smooth than black and rough.

This has been my exfoliating tool for the longest time. Operative words: longest time. This used to be much bigger and a more vivid orange color. Now it's a faded kind of peach with a scattered tint of black. Eeew. It's time to put this baby to rest.

I went to Trinoma to see what's new in the exfoliating scene when I realized that I had left my wallet! I just threw "peachy" in the trash and I needed a new one ASAP. Thank God I had P100 in my pocket.

The challenge: Find the perfect body scrubbing tool worth P100 or below.

Look what I found:

Loofahs Galore
I'm all for loofahs and I've had my share but personally I find it hard to pack when travelling. It also takes long to dry. You have to hang it somewhere and personally that's too much trouble for a lazy bone like me.

Pumice Stone
Tried and tested by our fore-fathers and still used until today. This could be perfect unless I get carried away and get scrub-happy.

Long-stemmed Brushes and Loofahs
The sales person showed me a bouquet of long-stemmed brushes and loofahs. Hhmmm, who wouldn't fall in love with these. Perfect for those hard to reach places. No calisthenics needed to scrub your back.

Bath Towel Scrubs
It's your old-fashioned labakara with an exfoliating twist. Like the loofah, you have to hang it up to dry, but it is more attractive because it comes in every color imaginable. Color-coordinating your bath towel scrub with your bathroom theme would be both pleasing to the eyes and to your skin.

Exfoliating Gloves
Just wear your gloves and you're good to go. I was so distracted by how cute this was.Bought the one with with the pretty flowers. Who could resist this.

Pumice Sponge
Personally, this is my favorite. It ‘s strong and yet gentle... somewhere in between the stone and the towel. For me, it's just right. Plus the fact that it's compact and easy to put away.

Best of all, they are all below P100! Scrubbing dirt away could really be dirt chea
